Not necessarily. Some tools default to the US 2 x 2 inch square. Work through the steps on this page and compare the photo with the official rule on the document page before you re-upload.

Will SurePassportPhoto fix this?

We prepare the file to the official size, head height and background for Passport Seva (India), and our checklist flags the lighting and framing faults behind this message. The portal and its staff make the final decision; if they reject a photo we made, our guarantee covers you.

Photo is 2 x 2 inch but Passport Seva wants 35 x 45 mm

"Photo is 2 x 2 inch but Passport Seva wants 35 x 45 mm" is a message shown by Passport Seva (India). Some tools default to the US 2 x 2 inch square. First step: Pick the Indian passport document in our tool, which outputs 35 x 45 mm at 600 DPI.

Why it happens

Some tools default to the US 2 x 2 inch square. Passport Seva uses a 35 x 45 mm portrait photo, so the square file is the wrong shape as well as the wrong size.

What to do

1.Pick the Indian passport document in our tool, which outputs 35 x 45 mm at 600 DPI.
2.Print on photo paper at exact size; do not stretch a 2 x 2 file to fit.
3.Bring the print to the Passport Seva Kendra appointment.
