Angola photo requirements

Angola photo requirements are set by Serviço de Migração e Estrangeiros (SME), Ministério do Interior (sme.gov.ao). We publish 2 documents: 1 passport and 1 visa. The most common print size is 35 x 45 mm (1.38 in x 1.77 in); 1 document accepts a digital upload. Each page quotes the official rule for size, head height, background and file, links the source we read, and shows the date we last checked it (most recently 2026-10-10).

Passports

Angola Passport Photo (SME portal application, visit to a service post; ICAO 35 x 45 mm reference)For an Angolan ordinary electronic passport (passaporte ordinário electrónico) requested on the Serviço de Migração e Estrangeiros portal sme.gov.ao, as a reference only: the act sheets sit behind the portal login and the public FAQ says you submit and pay online, then book a visit to a service post, so no photo rule could be read and the frame, head band and background here are the ICAO Doc 9303 defaults. Visas

Angola e-Visa Photo (SME upload: 381-571 x 496-744 px JPEG, 200 KB, white background)For the face image uploaded with an Angolan e-Visa application on the Serviço de Migração e Estrangeiros portal (tourism visa under Presidential Decree 189/23 and the other online visa categories): a recent photograph on a white background, 381 to 571 pixels wide and 496 to 744 pixels high, JPEG, at most 200 KB. The head band is the ICAO reference because the SME publishes none.
