For a Bangladeshi e-Passport applied for online at epassport.gov.bd and enrolled at a Divisional or Regional Passport Office or a Bangladesh mission abroad. The office photographs you during biometric enrolment; this page exists to tell you so. Not for a child under six (who hands in a 3R lab print, a format we do not produce), not for a Bangladesh visa and not for the NID card.

What trips people up
- CheckYou do not attach a photo: instruction 3 reads 'ই-পাসপোর্ট ফরমে কোন ছবি সংযোজন এবং তা সত্যায়নের প্রয়োজন হবে না।' (no photo is to be attached to the e-passport form, nor attested).
- CheckThe photo is taken at the office: 'Step 4: Visit your Passport Office for biometric enrolment'. Bring the printed application summary, NID or birth certificate, payment slip and previous passport; the required-documents notice lists no photograph.
- CheckException for small children (instruction 21 of the same list): applicants under six must submit a 3R-size lab print on a grey background ('৩ আর (3R Size) সাইজের ( ল্যাব প্রিন্ট গ্রে ব্যাকগ্রউন্ড ) ছবি'). The portal gives no millimetres; 3R is the 3.5 x 5 in studio print, roughly 89 x 127 mm by our conversion, a format we do not produce.

Known quirks of the official upload
- Noteepassport.gov.bd refuses anonymous readers from some networks (HTTP 403 to curl); the instructions page is readable through a text proxy and is in Bengali only, with the required-documents notice in English and Bengali.

The crown-to-chin portion of the facial image shall be 70 to 80 per cent of the longest dimension defined for Zone V, maintaining the aspect ratio between the crown-to-chin and ear-to-ear details of the face of the holder.
Quotes 1-4 are Bengali, from the portal's Instructions page at source.url (sources/bd/epassport-instructions.txt, read via the text proxy; the page cites Ministry of Home Affairs memo 58.00.0000.040.01.003.16-1234). Quote 5 is from 'five-step-to-your-epassport' and quote 6 from notice 34 'Required documents' (sources/bd/epassport-five-steps.txt, epassport-notice-34-required-documents.txt, last updated 7 May 2025). Quote 7 is ICAO Doc 9303 Part 3 (sources/icao/, Wayback 2024-09-12), reference frame only; archiveSnapshot 2024-09-12 is the Wayback date of that ICAO excerpt, not of a capture of source.url, which was read via the text proxy. eligibility 'no' from instruction 3 (no photo attached) plus the enrolment step. The under-six 3R rule is instruction 21 of the same list and is official, but the portal says only '3R Size'; the approx. 89 x 127 mm figure is our conversion of the 3.5 x 5 in print format, not a DIP number, and a 3R print cannot be expressed within our print sizes, so it is recorded in child.note and gotchas rather than as a spec. physical, head band, background, glasses, headCovering, neutralExpression and mouthClosed are ICAO-style reference values, not DIP rules. maxPhotoAgeMonths and printsRequired left undefined.
