Bulgaria photo requirements

Bulgaria photo requirements are set by Ministry of Interior (Министерство на вътрешните работи, МВР), Bulgarian identity documents directorates. We publish 1 document: 1 passport. The most common print size is 35 x 45 mm (1.38 in x 1.77 in). Each page quotes the official rule for size, head height, background and file, links the source we read, and shows the date we last checked it (most recently 2026-10-10).

Passports

Bulgarian Passport Photo (no readable national rule; ICAO 35 x 45 mm reference)For a Bulgarian passport (паспорт) issued by the Ministry of Interior to Bulgarian citizens, as a reference only: the ministry's identity-documents pages and the foreign ministry's consular pages were unreachable to us, so the frame, head band and all other values are the ICAO Doc 9303 defaults. Not for the identity card, a Bulgarian visa or a driving licence.35 x 45 mmnot readverified 2026-10-10
