What trips people up
- Check'Du skal selv sørge for et foto til dit nye kørekort', but 'Flere kommuner tilbyder, at du kan få taget et foto i borgerservice mod betaling' with an appointment; ask before you buy.
- CheckSame geometry as the passport: 35 x 45 mm with the head 30 to 36 mm high, frontal, showing the face and the top of the shoulders, evenly lit.
- CheckHead covering only if you ask for it on religious grounds, and then forehead, cheekbones and chin must be clear; glasses must be untinted and reflection-free; mouth closed, both eyes fully visible and looking at the camera.
- CheckThe print must be durable, scannable and free of stamps or damage: Borgerservice scans it onto the card, so a soft inkjet print can fail even if the framing is right.
- CheckA renewal may also need a lægeattest (medical certificate) no older than six months for lorry, bus and professional categories or health-limited licences; the photo and the certificate are separate requirements.
Good to know before you pay
If your kommune offers a photo at Borgerservice for a fee, book that and bring nothing.

Quotes are in Danish. Quotes 1-8 are from the borger.dk page 'Forny dit kørekort', section 'Krav til kørekortfoto', at source.url, read directly (sources/dk/borger-forny-dit-koerekort.txt; the page is owned by Færdselsstyrelsen, whose own example page was not read). Quote 9 is from Rigspolitiet's poster (sources/dk/politi-krav-til-pasbilleder-pdf.txt), whose title covers 'pas og kørekort'. The page says only that you must register the new card in the kørekort-app yourself and carries only a link heading for 'Udenlandsk kørekort i Danmark', so nothing is claimed about the app's photo or about exchanging a foreign licence. Head fractions 30-36 mm / 45 mm. maxPhotoAgeMonths is left undefined ('Det skal ligne dig' only). headCovering: religious reasons only in the source. dpi 600 is our rendering choice. borger.dk and politi.dk are not matched by the validator host rule; see the file header.
