What trips people up

  • Check
White background is the only published rule: 'To apply, you need a valid passport and a digital photo with a white background.' No pixel size, file size, format, head size or photo age is stated, so we render the ICAO 35 x 45 mm frame (413 x 531 px) with a 70 to 80 per cent head.
  • Check
The e-Visa is for short stays: 'Valid for 30 days and available for single or multiple entry.' It 'lets you enter Iraq without visiting an embassy or consulate'.
  • Check
The visa arrives by email: 'Your e-Visa will arrive by email; print it and show it at border control.' Keep the uploaded photo file in case the portal asks you to re-upload.
  • Check
Visa requirements differ by nationality and passport type; the portal's 'Visa Types' search by country was not readable as text, so check it before applying.

Known quirks of the official upload

  • Note
Apply on eservice.evisa.iq ('Apply Now' from the instructions page); payment is online and the approved e-Visa is emailed as a document to print.

Good to know before you pay

If you already have a digital passport photo on a white background, upload that; the portal states no other photo rule.

The portal names the issuing authority only as the visa service of the Republic of Iraq; the footer reads '© 2026 Visa Services'.
