What trips people up

  • Check
No photo is listed: the ROP page covers terms, procedures and fees and never names a photograph. The applicant attends the service centre ('The presence of the applicant in Omani uniform is required if 15 years or older.'), which is where we infer the image is captured; the page does not say so in words.
  • Check
Omani uniform: applicants aged 15 and over must appear in national dress for issuance and renewal, so expect the traditional dishdasha and headwear in the picture; our headCovering value follows that.
  • Check
Electronic request first: 'This service allows requesting Omani passport issuance electronically (new or renew), as well as viewing previous transactions.' You need an activated e-authentication (PKI) and a valid ID card, and must be in Oman.
  • Check
Children: 'The presence of the applicant's guardian at the service center is required if applicant is under 18 years old.' and the request is filed by the father as first-degree guardian; if the guardian is deceased or abroad, the request goes through a service centre.
  • Check
Fees: the page lists '5' for those aged 18 and under and '10' for those over 18, without a currency symbol.
  • Check
The 35 x 45 mm frame and 70-80 % head here are the ICAO Doc 9303 reference, flagged as such; ask the service centre before printing anything.
