For the photo enclosed with a prawo jazdy application or exchange at the starostwo or urząd miasta, either as a 35 x 45 mm print or as a JPEG file on a data carrier. Not for the passport or ID card, whose files have different pixel minimums and a white (not merely light) background.

What trips people up
- CheckThe file version is one exact size, 480 x 615 pixels, and must be under 100 KB, saved as JPEG with an EXIF 2.1 header containing the capture date, in sRGB at 24-bit colour and at compression quality 80 or better. In our experience most phone exports exceed the 100 KB limit, so we render this file specifically.
- CheckThe background here is 'jednolite jasne' (uniform light), unlike the pure white demanded for the passport and ID card; the page names no colour, so any uniform light background qualifies (light grey or very light blue is our reading).
- CheckNo head covering and no dark glasses unless you hold an identity document showing you the same way and attach the religious-community or disability certificate.
- CheckHead outline must be crisp with no over-exposed background, eyes open and pupils clearly visible, hair off the eyes, natural skin colour.
- CheckThe photo must be no older than 6 months, and the file version must carry the capture date in its EXIF header ('W nagłówku EXIF zamieść: datę wykonania').
