For the colour photo file attached to the gov.pl online passport application for a child who has not turned 12. Not for adults or children 12 and over, who apply in person with a 35 x 45 mm print, and not for the online dowód osobisty, which has a smaller 492 x 633 px minimum.

What trips people up
- CheckThe online route exists only for children under 12 and the file limits differ from the ID card's: at least 768 x 1004 pixels (not 492 x 633) and at most 2.5 MB, in the proportions of a 35 x 45 mm photo.
- Checkgov.pl states the pixel minimum and the 35:45 proportion but no file format; we deliver JPEG, the format every gov.pl upload accepts, and keep the file well under 2.5 MB.
- CheckA certificate for a religious head covering or for dark glasses: the photo page sets the procedure for the online dowód osobisty (attach it as a signed electronic document or a scan and hand over the original at collection); it states nothing specific for the online passport, so expect the same.
- CheckA child over 5 must be present when the passport is collected ('Dziecko, które ma powyżej 5 lat, musi być obecne przy odbiorze paszportu'); the white background and 70 to 80 percent face rule are the same MSWiA rules as for a print.
