For a Romanian electronic passport (pașaport simplu electronic) applied for in person at a county public passport service (serviciul public comunitar de pașapoarte) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, by Romanian citizens including minors. What trips people up

- CheckDocuments listed are the identity card (or provisional card plus birth certificate), proof of the fee payment and the previous passport if any: 'Paşaportul anterior, dacă acesta există.' No photograph appears in the list.
- CheckMinors attend too: 'La depunerea documentelor, prezenta minorului este obligatorie.' Their facial image is captured as well; children under 12 are exempt from fingerprints. A single parent filing needs the other parent's authenticated declaration of consent (or special power of attorney) or a final court decision.

The crown-to-chin portion of the facial image shall be 70 to 80 per cent of the longest dimension defined for Zone V, maintaining the aspect ratio between the crown-to-chin and ear-to-ear details of the face of the holder.
