Trinidad and Tobago Passport Photo (taken at the appointment; ICAO 35 x 45 mm reference): size and requirements

The Trinidad and Tobago Passport Photo size is 35 x 45 mm (1.38 x 1.77 inches). 'One recent passport sized photograph on a white background' is asked only for a lost, stolen or mutilated passport; white is also our rendering choice for the reference frame; head 70 to 80 percent of the photo height. Photo taken within the last 6 months. Last verified 2026-10-10 against Government of Trinidad and Tobago, ttconnect 'Passport' page and Immigration Division 'Passport FAQs', with the ICAO Doc 9303 reference frame.

For a Trinidad and Tobago machine-readable passport applied for at a Passport Office appointment (first issue or renewal, adult or child). The Immigration Division photographs you at the appointment and publishes no photo format, so this page is a reference frame; only a replacement for a lost, stolen or mutilated passport asks for one recent print. Not for a Trinidad and Tobago e-Visa, which has its own digital rule, nor for the national ID card or driver's permit.

For a first issue or renewal, book at appointments.gov.tt and let the Immigration Division capture your image. Bring one recent white-background print only if you are replacing a lost, stolen or mutilated passport. See the Trinidad and Tobago documents we can prepare.

What trips people up

  • Check
The office takes the picture: Step 4 on ttconnect is 'Visit the designated Passport Office with your documents. Photos will be taken at your appointment.' Book free at appointments.gov.tt, print the form 'double-sided on legal-size white copy paper (8½” x 14″)', bring originals and copies and a TTPOST TrackPak.
  • Check
The only print the FAQs ask for is for replacements: to replace a lost, stolen or mutilated passport you add the Notification Form, a police report where relevant and 'One recent passport sized photograph on a white background'. No size is published for it, so we use the ICAO 35 x 45 mm frame.
  • Check
Fees: 'Ordinary 32 Page Passport 500 TTD', 'Business 48 Page Passport 700 TTD', lost/stolen/mutilated 500 or 2 000 TTD priced at interview, expedite 600 TTD extra; free for children under 2 (first issue) and citizens over 60. Cash and Linx only, paid on the day.
  • Check
'Standard processing time: 4 weeks', expedited 3 to 7 business days. Validity: 'Passports for persons 16 years and older: valid for 10 years', under 16 five years; babies need their own passport and under-16s attend with the parent named on the birth certificate.
  • Check
Recommender: a Trinidad and Tobago citizen who has known you for at least three years and is not a relative, from the listed professions (Minister of Religion, bank manager, MP, Notary, senior public servant, police corporal and above, etc.). Not needed when renewing a child's passport.
  • Check
Everything geometric here (35 x 45 mm, 70-80 % head, six months) is the ICAO Doc 9303 reference, flagged as such; the Immigration Division publishes no photo format because its camera sets it.
