Zambia photo requirements

Zambia photo requirements are set by Department of National Registration, Passport and Citizenship (DNRPC), Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security (mohais.gov.zm); Department of Immigration for visas. We publish 2 documents: 1 passport and 1 visa. The most common print size is 35 x 45 mm (1.38 in x 1.77 in); 1 document accepts a digital upload. Each page quotes the official rule for size, head height, background and file, links the source we read, and shows the date we last checked it (most recently 2026-10-10).

Passports

Zambia Passport Photo (DNRPC: two 38 x 51 mm prints, white background, one endorsed)For the two printed photographs the Department of National Registration, Passport and Citizenship lists for a Zambian passport - first issue or renewal, applicants over 16 and children under 16 - filed in person at a passport and citizenship office, a Zambian mission or consulate: 38 x 51 mm (the sheet also allows 51 x 64 mm), recent, white or clear background, not mounted, one copy endorsed by a recommender. The head band is the ICAO reference because the sheet gives no face measurement. Not for the National Registration Card, where the office photographs you, nor for a Zambian e-Visa (separate page here).38 x 51 mmTwoverified 2026-10-10

Visas

Zambia e-Visa Photo (Department of Immigration: passport sized photo, jpg/png/tiff)For the 'Passport sized photo' uploaded with a Zambian e-Visa application on eservices.zambiaimmigration.gov.zm - tourism, business, official, religious, school, ordinary visitor, KAZA and transit categories - which the Department of Immigration lists first in every requirements row and accepts only in jpg, png or tiff. No size, background or pixel rule is published, so the frame and head band here are the ICAO reference. Not for a Zambian passport, which needs two 38 x 51 mm prints (separate page here).35 x 45 mmnot publishedverified 2026-10-10
