Photo KB resizer
Portals often cap the photo file size in KB. Choose a photo and a limit: the resizer re-encodes it as a JPEG at the highest quality that fits, and only reduces the pixel size if no quality is small enough.
Runs in your browser; your photo never leaves your device.
1 KB here is 1000 bytes, the stricter reading, so the file also fits a portal that counts 1024. The result is a JPEG; the photo's metadata (camera, location) is not copied into it.
Choose a photo and a size limit. We try the highest JPEG quality first and step down until the file fits.
How it works
- Choose a photo (JPEG, PNG, WebP; HEIC where the browser can open it).
- Enter the portal's maximum size in KB.
- The resizer tries the highest JPEG quality first, then searches for the best quality under the limit, the same search our digital files use.
- Download the result and check its pixel size is still above the portal's minimum.
Limits and when not to use this tool
- The resizer changes the file size only. It does not crop, does not check head size, background or expression, and does not replace a compliance check.
- If even the smallest version is still over the limit, the result says so and the download is named by its real size; the tool never hands you an oversized file labelled with the target.
- Reducing the pixel size to meet a KB limit can take a photo below a portal's minimum pixel size; the result shows the final dimensions so you can check.
