IRCC and Service Canada: known issues
IRCC and Service Canada is the portal in Canada used for Canadian Passport Photo, Canada Visitor Visa Photo and Canada Permanent Resident Card Photo and 2 more. We list 1 message it shows when a photo upload fails, why each appears and what to change before uploading again, each traced to the portal's own wording or a verified user report. Canada requires photos taken in person by a commercial photographer for most documents.

Messages and what to do
- Photos processed by online photo web services are not acceptable
First step: Take the file to a photo lab counter (many pharmacies and camera shops have one) rather than a self-service kiosk.
