Photos processed by online photo web services are not acceptable
"Photos processed by online photo web services are not acceptable" is a message shown by IRCC and Service Canada. IRCC requires the photo to be taken in person by a commercial photographer or photo studio, who stamps the studio name, address and date on the back. First step: Take the file to a photo lab counter (many pharmacies and camera shops have one) rather than a self-service kiosk.
Why it happens
IRCC requires the photo to be taken in person by a commercial photographer or photo studio, who stamps the studio name, address and date on the back. A home or online photo fails on who took it, not on how it looks.
What to do
- 1.Take the file to a photo lab counter (many pharmacies and camera shops have one) rather than a self-service kiosk.
- 2.Ask for the sheet printed at exact size on photo paper, with no cropping or resizing.
- 3.Ask the studio to stamp or write the studio name, address and the date of the photo on the back of each print, as IRCC requires.
Official wording
