What trips people up

  • Check
The whole photo rule is one list item: '35 x 45 մմ չափսի երկու գունավոր լուսանկար,' (two colour photographs, 35 x 45 mm). No background, head size, expression or recency rule is printed, so everything beyond the frame and the count here is an ICAO-style default.
  • Check
In person, by appointment: 'Ծառայությունից հնարավոր է օգտվել ֆիզիկապես՝ նախապես այց ամրագրելով։' (the service is used in person, after booking a visit), and a citizen of 16 or over files the application personally; any division can be used regardless of address.
  • Check
Documents for 16+: 'նույնականացման քարտ կամ մինչև 16 տարին լրանալը ստացած անձնագիր կամ ծննդյան վկայական,' (ID card, or the passport received before 16, or the birth certificate), the two photos, and for a first passport the parents' marriage (or equivalent) and identity documents; men liable for military service add their military booklet, attachment certificate or a commissariat certificate.
  • Check
Fee and timing: '1,000 դրամ' and 'Անձնագիրը տրամադրվում է **5 աշխատանքային օրվանից հետո**։' (issued after 5 working days); a replacement for a lost passport comes on the 10th working day. Faster service costs 1,000+10,000 AMD (3 working days) or 1,000+20,000 AMD (1 working day), paid only at the division's payment terminal.
  • Check
The booking page warns that reservations are open until 31 October and that from 1 November a new unified electronic platform for identity documents takes over, so re-check the document list after that date.
  • Check
The service's English site (migration.mia.gov.am/en/passport-services) describes eligibility only and links to hartak.am for the document list; hartak.am has no English version (the /en/ route errors), so the quotes here are Armenian with our translations in parentheses.

Good to know before you pay

Any Armenian photo studio prints 35 x 45 mm passport photos; our file only helps if you want to shoot the picture yourself and print two copies.
