Brunei photo requirements

Brunei photo requirements are set by Jabatan Imigresen dan Pendaftaran Kebangsaan (Department of Immigration and National Registration, immigration.gov.bn). We publish 2 documents: 1 passport and 1 visa. The most common print size is 35 x 45 mm (1.38 in x 1.77 in). Each page quotes the official rule for size, head height, background and file, links the source we read, and shows the date we last checked it (most recently 2026-10-10).

Passports

Brunei Passport Photo (JIPK: two white-background passport-size prints for consular replacements)For the two passport-size photographs on a white background that the Department of Immigration and National Registration lists when a Bruneian replaces a damaged passport while abroad through a Brunei mission - the only passport route on the department's page that names a photograph. The lists for applications inside Brunei (lost, damaged or fire-damaged passports) name no photograph, so the counter is assumed to capture the image. Visas

Brunei Visit Visa Photo (JIPK: two passport-size prints; ICAO 35 x 45 mm reference)For the two passport-size photographs listed on the Department of Immigration and National Registration's required-documents sheet for a social visit visa (Visa Lawatan) applied for through a sponsor in Brunei - one set of documents for ASEAN nationals, two sets for others. The same count ('2 keping gambar berukuran pasport') is asked for the APEC Business Travel Card. The department publishes no size or background, so the frame and white background here are the ICAO reference.
