Burkina Faso photo requirements

Burkina Faso photo requirements are set by Division de la Migration, Direction Générale de la Police Nationale (Ministère de la Sécurité); Office National d'Identification (ONI, oni.bf) for identity documents; e-Visa portal visaburkina.bf. We publish 1 document: 1 passport. The most common print size is 35 x 45 mm (1.38 in x 1.77 in). Each page quotes the official rule for size, head height, background and file, links the source we read, and shows the date we last checked it (most recently 2026-10-10).

Passports

Burkina Faso Passport Photo (photo captured live at the Division de la Migration; two 4,5 x 3,5 prints for minors)For a Burkinabè ordinary passport (passeport ordinaire) applied for at the Division de la Migration, where the ONI says every applicant attends in person because the photo and fingerprints are captured on the spot; only the file for a minor lists 'deux photos d'identité au format 4,5 X 3,5', so our 35 x 45 mm print is for a child's file or for a mission that asks for one. The head band, background and recency are the ICAO Doc 9303 reference because the ONI publishes none. Not for the CNIB, whose list names no photograph, nor for a Burkina e-Visa.35 x 45 mmnot publishedverified 2026-10-10
