Djibouti e-Visa Photo (evisa.gouv.dj upload: JPG or PNG, 250 KB): size and requirements

The Djibouti e-Visa Photo size is 413 x 531 pixels for online upload, file under 250 KB. Not published; white is our rendering choice; head 70 to 80 percent of the photo height. Last verified 2026-10-10 against République de Djibouti official e-Visa portal (evisa.gouv.dj) - applicant portal attachment rules, read from its English and French interface text.

For the photograph uploaded with a Djibouti e-Visa application on the official portal evisa.gouv.dj (ordinary and express visas): the portal accepts JPG or PNG files of at most 250 KB and lets you crop the image before upload. No dimensions, background or head rule is published, so the frame and head band here are the ICAO reference and the pixel size is ours. Not for a Djiboutian passport, for which no list is published.

What trips people up

  • Check
Format and size are the only rules: 'Photograph must be in one of the following formats: JPG or PNG.' and 'The size of each file should not exceed 250 Kb' (French: 'La photo doit être dans l'un des formats suivants : JPG ou PNG.', 'La taille de chaque fichier ne doit pas dépasser 250 Ko.'). Our 413 x 531 px file is a rendering choice - the portal gives no pixel size.
  • Check
There is a crop step: the portal's error text reads 'Selected cropped image is too large, please crop the image to upload', so you frame the photograph in the browser before it is attached; a tight ICAO-style head-and-shoulders crop keeps the file under 250 KB.
  • Check
Other attachments: 'Other documents may be in one of the following formats: JPG, PNG, PDF' - the passport copy and supporting papers - each also under 250 KB.
  • Check
What you need before applying (portal text): a passport valid for at least 6 months, a flight or other transport reservation, an accommodation address, an invitation letter with the host's contacts, and a Visa, Mastercard or American Express card; the fee is shown at payment with 10 % VAT. The remaining validity of the visa on arrival must be at least 48 hours.
  • Check
No background, head size, expression or glasses rule is published; the white background, 70-80 per cent head band, no-glare glasses and religious-only head-covering rules here are ICAO-style defaults, flagged as ours. The portal text was read from its translation files because the application pages render only after login.

Good to know before you pay

If you already have a JPG or PNG portrait under 250 KB, upload and crop it on the portal; use ours when a phone photo is too large or you want a clean passport-style crop.

Quotes 1-5 are from the portal's English interface file https://www.evisa.gouv.dj/applicant-api/assets/i18n/en.json (sources/dj/evisa-i18n-en.txt) and quote 6 from fr.json (sources/dj/evisa-i18n-fr.txt), both fetched directly on 2026-10-10; source.url redirects to /applicant-api/, an Angular app whose pages render only after login, which is why the strings were read from the translation files referenced by its main bundle. Quote 7 is ICAO Doc 9303 Part 3 (sources/icao/icao-9303-part3-portrait-excerpt.txt, Wayback capture 2024-09-12) and supplies only the head band. digital format 'jpeg-or-png' and maxKb 250 from quotes 1-2; target 413 x 531 px is our choice (no pixel rule published); background 'white', head 0.7-0.8, glasses, headCovering, neutralExpression and mouthClosed are ICAO-style defaults; no maxPhotoAgeMonths is set because the portal states none.
