What trips people up

  • Check
    This print route exists only abroad. The sheet is labelled 'Αφορά μόνο για τις περιπτώσεις υποβολής αίτησης στο εξωτερικό', and inside Greece prints stopped being accepted on 31-01-2026 in favour of the myPhoto upload.
  • Check
    The frame is 40 x 60 mm, not 35 x 45: face 31 to 35 mm from chin to crown, face width 20 to 25 mm ear to ear, eye line 30 to 39 mm up from the bottom edge, head centred; none of the limits may be exceeded in either direction.
  • Check
    No home printing: the photo must be on high-quality white photographic paper, 'να μην έχουν εκτυπωθεί από εκτυπωτές Ink Jet ή Laser', printed at 1200 dpi or better if it comes from a digital camera, with no visible pixels or raster dots. Order a lab print.
  • Check
    Background white or cream (or a 5 % grey), no shadows on face or background, no other people or objects (the sheet names toys and dolls), neutral expression, mouth closed, eyes normally open; a closed-mouth smile 'δεν συνιστάται'.
  • Check
    If you normally wear glasses the sheet wants you to wear them, clear and reflection-free with frames off the eyes; photochromic lenses must not have darkened; tinted glasses and sunglasses only for medical reasons. Head covering only for religious reasons with the face from chin to forehead and ear to ear visible, or for health reasons with a medical certificate.

    Photo age is stated twice and differently: the current page says within the last six months, the 2018 print sheet says 'ληφθείσα τον τελευταίο μήνα'. A photo under one month old satisfies both.

  • Το πλάτος του προσώπου CC ( από αυτί σε αυτί στο σημείο ένωσης με το πρόσωπο) πρέπει να είναι 20 mm έως 25 mm,
  • Η απόσταση BB από το κάτω μέρος της φωτογραφίας έως το ύψος των ματιών (νοητή γραμμή που περνά από τα δύο μάτια) πρέπει να είναι 30 mm έως 39mm.
