For the two recent identity photographs handed in with a Haitian passport application, renewal or replacement at a Haitian embassy or consulate, as listed by the Embassy in Washington. The mission publishes the count and the white background but no size, so the 35 x 45 mm frame here is the ICAO reference. Not for the Carte d'Identification Nationale, a Haitian visa or applications filed with the DIE inside Haiti, whose pages could not be reached.

What trips people up
- CheckThe embassy's list: 'Formulaire de demande dûment rempli (disponible au consulat)', the original Haitian birth certificate, '2 photos d'identité récentes (fond blanc)', a valid ID (carte d'identité, permis de conduire), the old passport or a loss declaration, and the consular fee. Processing '4 à 6 semaines'.
- CheckNo size is published, so we render the ICAO 35 x 45 mm frame; 'récentes' has no month figure, so the six-month limit here is ICAO's. Print two identical copies on a white background.
- CheckNew tariffs: the MAEC notice on the embassy site reads 'Passeport adulte 150 USD' and 'Passeport mineur 125 USD', 'En vigueur à partir du 5 Octobre 2026'. Payment means depend on the mission.
- CheckThe form is handed out at the consulate ('disponible au consulat'); there is no download. Submitted portraits should be 45.0 mm x 35.0 mm (1.77 in x 1.38 in) in dimension.
The crown-to-chin portion of the facial image shall be 70 to 80 per cent of the longest dimension defined for Zone V, maintaining the aspect ratio between the crown-to-chin and ear-to-ear details of the face of the holder.
