Latvia photo requirements

Latvia photo requirements are set by Pilsonības un migrācijas lietu pārvalde (Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs, PMLP) (pmlp.gov.lv). We publish 1 document: 1 passport. The most common print size is 35 x 45 mm (1.38 in x 1.77 in). Each page quotes the official rule for size, head height, background and file, links the source we read, and shows the date we last checked it (most recently 2026-10-10).

Passports

Latvian Passport Photo (no published photo rule; ICAO 35 x 45 mm reference)For a Latvian passport (pase) applied for in person at a division of the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (PMLP) by Latvian citizens and non-citizens, including children attending with a parent, as a reference only: PMLP publishes no photo geometry and its page implies the division captures the image, so every value here is the ICAO Doc 9303 default. Not for the eID card, a Latvian visa or a driving licence.35 x 45 mmnot statedverified 2026-10-10
