Mexico photo requirements

Mexico photo requirements are set by Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores (SRE). We publish 1 document: 1 passport. The most common print size is 35 x 45 mm (1.38 in x 1.77 in). Each page quotes the official rule for size, head height, background and file, links the source we read, and shows the date we last checked it (most recently 2026-10-08).

Passports

Mexican Passport Photo (captured at the SRE Oficina de Pasaportes)For the Mexican pasaporte ordinario issued by the Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores at an Oficina de Pasaportes in Mexico or a consulate abroad, where the applicant appears by appointment and the document is produced the same day, so no photograph is handed in. Not for a Mexican visa, the INE voter card or an INM residence card, whose photo rules we could not read.35 x 45 mmnot statedverified 2026-10-08
