Montenegro photo requirements

Montenegro photo requirements are set by Ministry of Internal Affairs (Ministarstvo unutrašnjih poslova, gov.me/mup). We publish 1 document: 1 passport. The most common print size is 35 x 45 mm (1.38 in x 1.77 in). Each page quotes the official rule for size, head height, background and file, links the source we read, and shows the date we last checked it (most recently 2026-10-10).

Passports

Montenegrin Passport Photo (photographed at the MUP counter; ICAO 35 x 45 mm reference)For an electronic passport of a Montenegrin citizen applied for in person at a Ministry of Internal Affairs regional unit or branch for civil status and personal documents, or at the consulates general in Frankfurt and New York or the embassy in Belgrade, for adults and children. The ministry photographs the applicant when the application is filed, so this page is a reference frame only. Not for the identity card, a Montenegrin visa or a driving licence.35 x 45 mmnot statedverified 2026-10-10
