Panama photo requirements

Panama photo requirements are set by Autoridad de Pasaportes de Panamá (APAP); visas via the Servicio Nacional de Migración (migracion.gob.pa). We publish 2 documents: 1 passport and 1 visa. The most common print size is 35 x 45 mm (1.38 in x 1.77 in). Each page quotes the official rule for size, head height, background and file, links the source we read, and shows the date we last checked it (most recently 2026-10-10).

Passports

Panamanian Passport Photo (no readable national rule; ICAO 35 x 45 mm reference)For a Panamanian passport issued by the Autoridad de Pasaportes de Panamá to Panamanian citizens, as a reference only: every host of the passport authority was unreachable to us and no archived copy exists, so the frame, head band and all other values are the ICAO Doc 9303 defaults. Visas

Panama Tourist Visa Photo (three prints when filed abroad; ICAO 35 x 45 mm reference)For the three photographs filed with a Panama tourist visa (visa de turista) application at a Panamanian consulate abroad by a foreign national whose nationality needs a visa; the Servicio Nacional de Migración's sheet exempts tourist visas filed with the SNM inside Panama from the photo item. The SNM publishes no size, background or head rule, so the frame is the ICAO Doc 9303 reference.
