For the three photographs filed with a Panama tourist visa (visa de turista) application at a Panamanian consulate abroad by a foreign national whose nationality needs a visa; the Servicio Nacional de Migración's sheet exempts tourist visas filed with the SNM inside Panama from the photo item. The SNM publishes no size, background or head rule, so the frame is the ICAO Doc 9303 reference. Not for the Panamanian passport, the RUEX foreigner registration or a residence permit.

What trips people up
- CheckThree prints, abroad only: 'Aportar tres (3) fotografías; cuando las solicitudes de visa se presenten en el exterior, exceptuando la visa de turista presentada ante el Servicio Nacional de Migración en la República de Panamá.' (provide three photographs when the application is filed abroad, except for the tourist visa filed with the SNM in Panama). No size, background or pose is published, so a standard 35 x 45 mm ICAO print is the safe choice; confirm the consulate's preferred size when booking.

Good to know before you pay
Any studio passport print will meet 'tres (3) fotografías', since the SNM publishes no format; use our file if you want to shoot it yourself and print three copies.

The crown-to-chin portion of the facial image shall be 70 to 80 per cent of the longest dimension defined for Zone V, maintaining the aspect ratio between the crown-to-chin and ear-to-ear details of the face of the holder.
