What trips people up
- CheckThe only published rule is that a photo is uploaded: 'Step 3. Upload copies of necessary documents:' followed by 'photo;'. No pixel size, file size, format or background is stated, so we render the ICAO 35 x 45 mm frame (413 x 531 px) with a 70 to 80 per cent head on white.
- CheckThe upload sits with the passport copy, insurance policy (EUR 30 000 cover), proof of funds and purpose document; the platform's Help section carries the per-category document lists we did not read.
- CheckFees on the saved page: single entry 20 USD, double entry 30 USD, doubled for the urgent (1 working day) procedure; non-urgent processing is 3 working days.
- CheckThis page was read from a Wayback snapshot of 2024-08-10 because mfa.gov.ua and evisa.mfa.gov.ua block automated readers; the live platform may state upload limits inside the form.
Known quirks of the official upload
- NoteRegister at the MFA web-platform first (Step 1), fill in the form (Step 2), upload photo and documents (Step 3), pay (Step 4); the e-Visa is issued as a PDF to print.
Good to know before you pay
If you have a recent passport-photo file from a studio, upload that; the MFA page states no size, background or age rule for the e-Visa photo.
Source and verification
No national rule published; ICAO 9303 standard applies. Last checked 2026-10-09 (archived copy dated 2024-08-10) at Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, 'e-Visa' page (Consular affairs / Entry and stay of foreigners in Ukraine), with ICAO Doc 9303.
Step 3. Upload copies of necessary documents:

Step 1. Register at the MFA web-platform
All e-Visa applications are processed within urgent (1 working day) or non-urgent (3 working days) procedure.
The crown-to-chin portion of the facial image shall be 70 to 80 per cent of the longest dimension defined for Zone V, maintaining the aspect ratio between the crown-to-chin and ear-to-ear details of the face of the holder.
Quotes 1-4 are from the MFA 'e-Visa' page at source.url, read on 2026-10-09 from the Wayback Machine capture of 2024-08-10 (web.archive.org/web/20240810100523id_/, sources/ua/mfa-e-visa-wayback.txt) because mfa.gov.ua and evisa.mfa.gov.ua return Cloudflare 403 to curl and to the text proxy; archiveSnapshot is that page capture. eligibility.officialWording joins the Step 3 heading with the first four list items as they follow on the page. Quote 5 is ICAO Doc 9303 Part 3 (sources/icao/, Wayback 2024-09-12) and supplies the reference head band. digital 413 x 531 px JPEG is our 300 dpi rendering of the ICAO 35 x 45 frame; the MFA publishes no pixel, kilobyte, format or background rule, so background 'white', glasses, headCovering and format are rendering choices; maxPhotoAgeMonths undefined. 'yes' rests on the upload-only procedure with no photographer requirement.
