Venezuelan Passport Photo (ICAO 35 x 45 mm reference; SAIME publishes no photo rule): size and requirements

The Venezuelan Passport Photo size is 35 x 45 mm (1.38 x 1.77 inches). Not stated by any readable SAIME page; white is our rendering choice; head 70 to 80 percent of the photo height. Photo taken within the last 6 months. Last verified 2026-10-09 against Servicio Administrativo de Identificación, Migración y Extranjería (SAIME, Venezuela), 'Pasaporte habilitado' and 'Atención al Ciudadano' pages, with ICAO Doc 9303.

For the Venezuelan ordinary passport (pasaporte ordinario) and the expedited pasaporte habilitado issued by SAIME at its offices in Venezuela by online appointment, and for passports issued through consulates. SAIME's readable pages publish no photo requirement, so this spec is the ICAO Doc 9303 reference frame only. Not for the cédula de identidad or a Venezuelan visa.

Check with your SAIME office or consulate before buying: no SAIME page names a photo, so treat our 35 x 45 mm ICAO print as a best guess, not an official format. See all Venezuela documents.

What trips people up

  • Check
No photo rule is published. SAIME's passport, identification and citizen-service pages list fees, document lists and appointment steps but never a photograph; everything in this spec is the ICAO Doc 9303 reference frame (35 x 45 mm, head 70 to 80 per cent, taken within six months), flagged as such.
  • Check
Everything runs through the online appointment: 'La solicitud del pasaporte habilitado se realiza a través de la página web www.saime.gob.ve, el cual se tramita en la oficina Simón Bolívar, ubicada en Caracas.' The ordinary passport is requested the same way at the office you choose.
  • Check
Ask the office whether it photographs you: because no page names a photo to bring, the capture is very likely done at the appointment, but we could not read that and do not assert it.
  • Check
Fees are set in reference units (Ref. 108 to 350 by age and service) 'anclados a la tasa BCV del día'; ordinary delivery is '8 a 15 días hábiles', the habilitado 48 hours.
  • Check
Collect within five months: an uncollected passport is moved to the central office and the holder must request it through Atención al Ciudadano and pay the fee again.
