Niger photo requirements

Niger photo requirements are set by Ministère de l'Intérieur (domestic passport service not read; its Direction de la Surveillance du Territoire, DST, handles visa formalities); embassies and consulates abroad (diplomatie.gouv.ne). We publish 2 documents: 1 passport and 1 visa. The most common print size is 35 x 45 mm (1.38 in x 1.77 in). Each page quotes the official rule for size, head height, background and file, links the source we read, and shows the date we last checked it (most recently 2026-10-10).

Passports

Niger Passport Photo (three recent ID photos on the consular list; ICAO 35 x 45 mm reference)For a Nigerien passport (passeport nigérien) applied for through an embassy or consulate of Niger, whose document list on the foreign ministry's site asks for '3 photos d'identité récentes' (two for an extension) with no size, background or head rule - so the frame, head band and background here are the ICAO Doc 9303 reference. Domestic applications inside Niger have no readable list on any Interior Ministry page. Not for a Nigerien visa (4 x 4 cm, separate page here).35 x 45 mmnot publishedverified 2026-10-10

Visas

Niger Visa Photo (consular file: two bare-headed 4 x 4 cm photos)For a Nigerien entry visa applied for at an embassy or consulate of Niger (the normal route under the foreign ministry's 'Entrée au Niger' page): the file is the passport and a copy, the form in duplicate and 'Deux photographies de tête nue, format 4x4 récentes et parfaitement ressemblantes.' - two recent, bare-headed 40 x 40 mm prints. The head band is the ICAO reference because the ministry publishes none. Not for the exceptional visa on arrival authorised by the Ministry of the Interior, nor for a Nigerien passport.40 x 40 mmnot publishedverified 2026-10-10
