South Korea photo requirements

South Korea photo requirements are set by 외교부 여권과 (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Passport Division). We publish 2 documents: 1 passport and 1 visa. The most common print size is 35 x 45 mm (1.38 in x 1.77 in); 1 document accepts a digital upload. Each page quotes the official rule for size, head height, background and file, links the source we read, and shows the date we last checked it (most recently 2026-10-07).

Passports

Korean Passport Photo (여권사진, 3.5 x 4.5 cm print or 413 x 531 px upload)For the one photo attached to a Korean passport application, as a 3.5 x 4.5 cm print at the local government passport desk or as a 413 x 531 px file in the online passport re-issue service. Visas

Korean Visa Photo (비자, 3.5 x 4.5 cm colour passport photo)For the one colour 3.5 x 4.5 cm passport-type photo attached to a Korean visa application at a Korean embassy or consulate, or uploaded as a file of the same size for an e-visa or visa issuance confirmation on the Korea Visa Portal.
