What size is a driving licence photo?

It depends on the country. Across the 14 driving licences we publish, 35 x 45 mm (1.38 in x 1.77 in) is the most common print size, followed by 26 x 32 mm (1.02 in x 1.26 in). For online uploads 1050 x 1350 pixels is the most common file size. Open the document page for the exact rule.

Is the background the same for every driving licence?

No. The 14 driving licences here use 3 different background colours (light, light grey and white). Each document page quotes the authority's own wording.

Can I wear glasses in a driving licence photo?

None of the driving licences we publish bans glasses outright, but every authority requires no glare, no tint and frames that do not cover the eyes. Taking them off is the safe choice.

Is this an official government page?

No. We are an independent service, not a government website. Applying for a passport or visa is done with your government; we only prepare the photo. Every rule here is quoted from the authority's own page, which is linked with the date we last read it.
